Irvine, Calif. — Wonderware Corp. introduced its FactorySuite 2000 Software Bundle on Jan. 30. FactorySuite 2000 will more tightly integrate industrial automation software modules and make “extensive use of Microsoft’s ActiveX technology” within Microsoft Windows NT. This version includes Wonderware InTouch human-machine interface Version 7.0 in the client/server package. It has a common installation procedure for all applications programs and a single real-time relational database used by all modules. The U.S. list price is $9,950. Roy Slavin, Wonderware president and ceo, says the IndustrialSQL Server database allows “all production data collected on the plant floor to be instantly available to corporate computing applications, such as manufacturing or enterprise resource planning (MRP), scheduling, and financial applications.”
