WSP Flack + Kurtz promotes international engineers
WSP Flack + Kurtz, San Francisco, promotes Wayne Gaw and Ding-Guo Xie to senior positions.
WSP Flack + Kurtz, an international engineering firm, has promoted Wayne Gaw, PE, LEED AP, to senior vice president, and Ding-Guo Xie, PE, LEED AP, to senior associate, announced Susanna See, PE, LEED AP, executive vice president and managing director of the firm’s San Francisco office.
Mr. Gaw, who was named to Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 40 Under 40 list in 2010, has been with WSP Flack + Kurtz for 17 years. During his tenure, he has worked on such preeminent projects as the LEED Certified MGM MIRAGE CityCenter development in Las Vegas, the LEED Silver Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, the LEED Gold Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco, and Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport, which contains the world’s largest radiant floor cooling system. Among his current projects are San Francisco’s Transbay Transit Center, NJ-T Suning Plaza in Nanjing, and Beijing Financial Street.
An accomplished mechanical engineer with strong ability to develop integrated building concepts, Mr. Gaw is an integral team member on many of the firm’s projects in China. He specializes in coordinating with clients and Local Design Institutes on ambitious, complex projects, and continues to play a significant role in winning new projects in China.
Mr. Xie has been with the firm for 19 years. He specializes in HVAC design, smoke control systems and energy management. His project experience encompasses a variety of sectors, and includes Beijing New Poly Plaza in Beijing, China; Basrah Sports City in Basrah, Iraq; the J. David Gladstone Institutes laboratory facility in San Francisco’s Mission Bay; the San Francisco Conservatory of Music; Poly 636 in Dawangjing, China, and Aviation Plaza in Chengdu, China.
