Sunx brand optical touch switch from Panasonic Electric Works Corp. of America replaces mechanical push buttons often used in two hand control safety applications.

It features a comfortable, ergonomic design that allows for multiple mounting configurations to achieve optimum application coverage, the company says. Configurable operation indicators add to the functionality of the switch by offering visual feedback to the operation with respect to the process status.

Long life PhotoMOS outputs coupled with a virtually indestructible casing make the SW-101 a perfect addition to any machine safety program, according to Panasonic.

Products from Panasonic Electric Works Corp. of America, a U.S. subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Works Ltd., has an Automation Control Systems Division offering programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, servo / ac drives, sensors and laser markers (Sunx brand), temperature controllers, limit switches, timers, counters, hour meters and magnetic contactors.
