Control Engineering 2006 Engineers’ Choice Awards
Submissions tips and guidelines
-
One application form per product please.
-
Products should be NEW products; if you are describing a new version or new model of an existing product, be clear about what features or functions are new.
-
Products must have been available for sale in North America between December 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006.
-
More isn’t necessarily better; twenty 10-page nominations per company or product line won’t increase chances of winning. We’re seeking quality information, not quantity.
-
Points may be deducted for submissions that aren’t complete in a one email.
-
All submissions become property of Control Engineering and Reed Business Information; some or all of what’s submitted may be cited or quoted in print and/or online.
-
Materials must be submitted electronically to: [email protected] or faxed to 630-288-8580.
Questions can be directed to Editor in Chief Mark Hoske at 630-288-8570 or Editorial Director Renee Robbins at 630-288-8013.
Control Engineering image requirements
Digital images should be Photoshop compliant JPG, TIFF or EPS formats, at 300 dpi resolution for grayscale and four-color images (at the approximate size it could appear in the magazine), with highlight on grayscale of 3% and shadow 90%, in RGB format.
In general:
-
Capture images at the largest size resolution possible with highest pixel depth your equipment can produce.
-
Control image correction as much as possible during image capture, do not sharpen.
-
Previously scanned high resolution files are acceptable.
-
Files should be submitted uncompressed (TIFF format) RGB color mode with no embedded color profile.
-
EPS files are also acceptable in PhotoShop or Illustrator programs.
-
JPEG files are compressed and therefore not preferred but will be acceptable only if they are high resolution.
Unless otherwise requested, any added type or logos, other than what would appear on a normal software screen shot, will be cropped out to ensure uniform publication style.
