Cincinnati, OH— Advantech Corp. reports that its Industrial Automation Group has released a 17-inch, color SXGA, TFT LCD, flat-panel monitor, FPM-3170, designed for industrial applications.

FPM-3170 supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024, while its multi-scan function supports SXGA, XGA, VGA, and VGA text mode settings. Luminance is high at 250 cd/m2, and it has auto-recognition of input signals from VGA, DVI-D, Video and S-Video. The monitor also supports panel, wall, rack-mount or VESA arm mounting, and is available in both touch-screen and non-touchscreen models.

With its 17-in. viewing size, FPM-3170 presents an ample display area and vivid, sharp images for human-machine interface (HMI) applications, according to Advantech. Its on-screen display function also allows users to easily adjust onscreen images.

While most commercial products use corrosive-susceptible metals, FPM-3170’s chassis is stainless steel, and the front panel is made of aluminum. Because the exposed front panel is protected from dust and low-pressure water jets from all directions (NEMA4/IP65), FPM-3170 is suitable for harsh commercial and industrial environments. The non-touchscreen version has a tempered glass front protection panel.
