2005 R&D 100 Awards announced
Researchers in industry, government, and academia offer the year’s best in technology, as the editors of R&D Magazine announce the winners of the 43rd Annual R&D 100 Awards. This year’s winners join the ranks of more than 6,000 (including joint developers) past winning organizations—all can be found in a searchable archive at www.rdmag.com/rd100ach .
Selection of the 2005 R&D 100 winners lasts nearly a year and involves a panel of nearly 50 independent technical experts who lend their expertise in evaluating details of the product entries, compared to other existing products and technologies. Winners will be recognized at a black tie awards ceremony in the Grand Ballroom of Chicago’s Navy Pier on Oct. 20. This year’s R&D 100 winners include representatives from North America, Europe, Asia, industry, government, and academia.
Winners are in the following categories: Analytical instruments, communications, electronics, energy/environmental, exclusives, laboratory equipment, lasers/optics, life science, materials, mechanical systems, microscopy, process technology, safety, software, and vacuum/semiconductors.
