Burlingame, Calif.— Maxon’s new motor utilizes rare-earth magnets and graphite brushes to maximize torque in a 1 in. (26 mm) diameter × 2.32 in. (59 mm) long package weighing 5.3 oz (150 g). Patented rhombic moving coil provides long life, low electrical noise, fast acceleration, and high efficiency. The ironless rotor allows zero cogging and simple accurate control. Rated at 18 W, with a maximum speed of 11,000 rpm at 86% efficiency, these motors operate in an ambient range of–4 to 212 °F (–20 to 100 °C), and are available with gearhead ratios from 3.7:1 to 6,285:1. Tachometers and encoders are also available.
