ABB to install IndustrialIT Solutions at Forcit Oy

Helsinki, Finland - ABB announced on May 15, 2002 that ABB IndustialIT Solutions will be implemented at Forcit Oy's Hanko plant in Finland. The plant is expanding the production of polymer dispersions, which are used as binders in water-borne systems.

Helsinki, Finland – ABB announced on May 15, 2002 that ABB IndustialITSolutions will be implemented at Forcit Oy’s Hanko plant in Finland. The plant is expanding the production of polymer dispersions, which are used as binders in water-borne systems.

ABB’s scope of supply includes two OperateITOperator Stations, two ControlITAC 800M controllers, S 800 Exi I/O-units, and one ProduceITBatch Operator Station with software. ABB will also provide a variety of additional services including installation and training. The new ProduceITBatch system for batch processes is said to be the first delivered to Finland.

Forcit Oy, which has been in operation since 1893, has two main branches, the Explosive branch and the Dispersions branch. Eighty percent of the company’s dispersion production will be exported mainly to the European Union.
