Moraga, Calif. — Single Tag Interface for TA Engineering Co.’s AIMAX for Windows human-machine interface (HMI) software is based on OLE and OPC standards and integrates AIMAX and VMIC’s (Huntsville, Ala.) IOWorks PC-based control software. Once an application is developed by using IOWorks, AIMAX imports the tag database from IOWorks. The database needs to be constructed just once, in IOWorks. It is then read by AIMAX. The user doesn’t have to rebuild a copy of the database in the HMI. During system operation, real-time data are provided through the IOWorks OPC server to the AIMAX OPC client for display. OLE for Process Control (OPC) is a communication standard based on object linking and embedding.
