Automotive company installing wind turbines at plant
Honda has brought in Juhl Wind, a renewable energy specialist company, to develop two utility-scale wind turbines in an $8 million project at the company's Ohio plant.
Honda has tapped community renewable energy specialist Juhl Wind to develop, install and operate two utility-scale wind turbines at the Japanese auto giant’s transmission plant in Russell’s Point, Ohio.
Juhl Wind is providing full development services along with construction management of the $8m project, which is scheduled to be completed this year. A turbine supplier has yet to be selected.
Once the turbines begin operating, the Honda transmission plant will obtain 10% of its electricity directly from wind turbines located on its property, Project development VP Corey Juhl said.
