Courtesy: Cimcorp AutomationCimcorp Automation’s Adam is an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that performs robotic, random origin to random destination transport of materials in lean manufacturing operations. The robot dynamically chooses its route without an external guide path network or sensors, allowing it to quickly adapt to an environment. It can be integrated with production machinery to fully automate the flow of material between islands of manufacturing automation. A heavy-duty industrial design has a compact, durable chassis with customizable top plate; laser range finding system for vehicle location and obstacle avoidance; onboard PC for navigation and drive control; two servomotors with integrated gear reducers for vehicle drive; opportunity charging capability; and a user-friendly, PC-based interface. Maximum speed is up to 1.5 m/s (4.9 ft/s) and maximum payload is up to 300 kg (660 lb).
