ACS300 Series low voltage, digital brushless ac servo amplifiers from Automotion Inc. use a DSP-based architecture to provide software-selectable torque, velocity, or position mode operation. Sine wave commutation is said to provide smooth torque at low speeds for the demanding motion control requirements of robotic, direct drive, and linear motor applications. Space-efficient device measures 5.25 in. (133 mm) x 3.4 in. (86 mm) x 1.0 in. (25 mm) and weighs less than 8 oz (222 g) without a heat sink. Designed for use with low-voltage dc, brushless dc, or brushless ac permanent magnet motors, model offers a standard RS-232 serial communication interface and an optional CAN hardware interface.
