Canadian chapter of maintenance professionals established
The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) established its first Canadian chapter—in Hamilton, Ontario.
Burlington, Ontario, Canada —The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) established its first Canadian chapter—in Hamilton, Ontario. SMRP has seven official chapters and more than 2,200 members in North America. The new Hamilton Chapter promotes and supports maintenance and reliability education for people, production and quality processes to improve the work environment and advances reliability best practices.
Glen Saevil, elected chair of the Hamilton Chapter SMRP board of directors, is reliability services product development manager for Ivara Corp. in Burlington, Ontario. The other 2007 SMRP Hamilton Chapter executive board members are vice chair Michael Reining of Dofasco, treasurer Adam Gannon of Stelco, and secretary Sandra DiMatteo of Ivara. General board members are Carlo Odoardi of Ivara, Geoffrey Generalovic of Dofasco, Kevin Deverell of Commtest, Larry Cote of Dofasco, Liane Harris of IRIS Maintenance Solutions, Maria Carapina of Invensys Process Systems, and Randy Grant of Ivara.
The Hamilton Chapter’s goal is to grow its membership and strengthen relationships with industry associations in the region.
