Carrier to acquire Automated Logic

Farmington, CT— Carrier Corp. recently agreed to acquire Automated Logic Corp. to broaden its commercial controls offerings. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Carrier produces commercial and residential heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

Founded in 1977, Automated Logic designs and manufactures innovative building automation and control systems primarily for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and energy management applications. Automated Logic distributes and installs commercial systems through a network of independent dealers.

‘Automated Logic’s leading controls technology enhances Carrier’s current electronics controls business, said Ken Fox, Carrier Electronics’ VP and general manager. ‘With the continued growth and acceptance of open standards, commercial customers are asking for connectivity within and among different building systems, enabling centralized monitoring, lower operating costs and vendor flexibility.

Gerry Hull, Automated Logic’s CEO, adds that, ‘Carrier and Automated Logic are a good match, with shared commitments to innovation, quality, and customer care. Automated Logic provides Carrier state-of-the-art technology, a strong management team and a platform for growth in the building controls industry.’

Automated Logic and its subsidiaries will continue operating using their current names, and its headquarters will remain in Kennesaw, Georgia. Carrier and Automated Logic’s brands will grow by combining and coordinating their activities via their newly expanded network across North America and worldwide.
