Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. has introduced a CC-Link IE Field option card for its FR-A700 inverter that delivers control of remote I/O and simultaneous read/write functionality up to one Gbps. The new card integrates FR-A700 inverters into the open-technology CC-Link IE Field Industrial Ethernet, and can seamlessly connect more than 120 stations on one network.

The new card eliminates the need for Ethernet switches and their associated hardware and implementation costs. The FR-A700’s ultrahigh speed and its flexible topology can connect as many as 239 CC-Link networks, allowing vast exchanges of data to suit any application, the company said.
