Offering high throughput and low latency, the Celero multiprocessor VME board supports a wide variety of intricate applications, including military and aerospace, that require multi-processing power.

The Celero CVME-7410 features up to four independent PowerPC nodes linked by a PCI bus on one VME board. This helps designers of embedded systems handle complicated processing functions such as image processing, digital signal processing, sonar control, and radar control.

The Celero CVME-7410 from Cornet Technology Communications (CTC), the network communications solutions division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), supports LINUX and is said to be the first VME board to support the VxWorks Safety Critical platform, enabling the development of ARINC-653 and DO-178B compliant systems.

Cornet Technology Communications designs and manufactures data, voice, and video network switching products and has worked with the U.S. military for more than 15 years. Thomas Bennett, president of the Cornet Technology Communications division, said, “Our long-standing relationship with the United States military, combined with the extensive experience our personnel exhibit in this market, makes introducing a VME board into the military embedded systems market the next logical step in our corporate strategy. Over the next 12 months, as part of our comprehensive product roadmap, we plan to roll out a number of products that incorporate FPGA and switch-fabric technologies.”

The Celero VME-7410 will be available for shipping early in Q3 2006.
