Compact, high-channel-capacity modules for acquiring video, PCM (pulse code modulation), and avionics bus data are the latest additions to Heim Data Systems’ signal interfaces. Plug-in modules have up to eight sensor inputs for interfacing high-performance instrumentation and flight test recorders with a variety of sensors. Modules are available for operation in systems producing Heim Datarec-3 and Irig-106 Chapter 10 data format.

Video module can record and replay data from up to four NTSC/PAL/SECAM sources with four audio channels. MPEG-2 digitization and compression employs selectable maximum data rates offering the user a wide choice of data bandwidth and picture quality. Each PCM module can record and replay from up to eight data streams with each stream having independent configuration and data rates up to 20 Mbit/s. MIL-STD-1553 module can record up to eight dual redundant busses.

Users can acquire data from 8 PCM, 4 video, and 8 1553 bus sources using one recorder. Each interface is contained within rugged aluminum housing and includes connectors and securing screws. All configurations and settings are software programmable through the mainframe’s own manual controls or through serial or Ethernet remote interfaces.
