Rochester, NY— Connected Energy Corp. and Turbec AB
Connected Energy’s Central Operating Management System (COMSys) provides users with access via an Internet browser that allows interfacing with these T100 microturbines. Users can monitor operations; access data history; receive alarm notifications; produce reports; and dispatch the microturbines. The system can also monitor site meters, sensors, gas compressors, heat exchangers and protective relays. Data from the site is transformed into a standardized XML data set, and transmitted over the Internet as securely as transactions from financial institutions.
“We’re happy to team up with Connected Energy and very excited about the possibilities for `virtual’ site management using COMSys,’ says John Reisky, Turbec’s sales and marketing vp. ‘The web-based monitoring package solution they’ve developed is ideally suited for our distributed generation plants.’
As part of its agreement, Turbec’s service personnel will monitorre centers. The microturbines combine high efficiency and reliability with low-air emissions.
COMSys provides user-friendly and centrally maintained software applications, in conjunction with onsite hardware, to create a secure connection to remote sites. Christopher Campbell, Connected Energy’s president and ceo, adds that, ‘The ability to communicate and control remote energy systems will be a critical component of distributed generation. It is a difficult but essential task to have a common communications tool involving different equipment and a wide array of control and automation systems. Connected Energy applauds Turbec’s efforts toward providing an open solution that helps grow the market.’
