Irvine, CA – According to its developer, the AS-interface is the first-to-market device of its kind. The device is a simple 2-wire cabling method that carries both power and data to multiple process points and provides bus connection for its line of flow, level, pressure, and temperature transmitters/switches-providing connectivity to all four process values. AS-interface allows up to 4 inputs and 4 output signals in bi-directional modules (up to 248 binary signals in a single cable network). The system contains one master and up to 31 slaves. The master may be part of the first control level (PLC, PC, etc.) or, by working as a coupler, can be part of a fieldbus network. AS-interface to all sensor points eliminates multiple wires to multiple sensors.
