Copper, fiber EtherNet/IP module uses rugged Intel chip
New EtherNet/IP modules, available in copper and soon available in fiber, are the first products from Rockwell Automation to feature the Intel IXP465 network processor.
Milwaukee, WI — Rockwell Automation says manufacturers are dramatically increasing the use of the information and control capabilities built into existing platforms. For customers using EtherNet/IP (an industrial Ethernet protocol), communications products have been enhanced to take advantage of the speed at which plant-floor information is captured and distributed throughout the enterprise.
Two new EtherNet/IP module options provide ControlLogix users with the increased performance or capacity needed from their networks. The new modules, available in copper and soon available in fiber, are the first products from Rockwell Automation to feature the Intel IXP465 network processor chip designed specifically for the rigorous performance demands of manufacturing environments.
