By Control Engineering Staff April 2, 2008

Caught on a recent trip to Chicago, Stephen Northcutt, president of the SANS Institute educational division, talks to Control Engineering editor Peter Welander about key issues in cyber security.

Northcutt, known for his engaging presentations, describes some current cyber security concerns, his recommendations for new security managers, and why your laptop computer may not be as well protected as you might think. The discussion includes simple measures you can take for your own system, as well as questions you can ask to see if your plant networks are getting the protection they deserve.

The SANS Institute is a leading research and training organization, and facilitates summits specifically related to industrial control and SCADA systems.
