A new family of compact DSCP signal converters introduced by Dataforth Corp. includes seven models, each in an ultra-slim 6.2 mm case. In addition to the narrow 6.2 mm DIN housing, the DSCP6x series specifications include:

• Better than ±0.1% accuracy;

• 14-bit resolution;

• 1,500 V ac 3-way isolation (50 or 60 Hz);

• Output overcurrent protection;

• Dip-switch configuration;

• 3 power supply options;

• Cage clamp connectors;

• Expandable power-bus connector on DIN rail guide;

• CE compliant; and

• Manufactured per RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

Dataforth DSCP slim-line series includes the DSCP55 Pt100, Ni100/loop-powered converter; the DSCP61 Pt100-to-dc current/voltage converter; the DSCP62 thermocouple-to-dc current/voltage converter with relay output; the DSCP63 dc voltage/current converter; the DSCP64 dc voltage/current converter with transducer power supply; the DSCP65 dc low voltage converter, and the DSCP70 power supply connection module for DIN rail power bus.

Power for the 19.2 to 30 V dc DSCP6x series can be provided in three ways. The power supply can be connected directly to each signal conditioner. Power can be connected to one signal conditioner and, using the expandable Power-Bus connector, be distributed to a maximum of 16 adjacent modules. Using the DSCP70 power supply connection module and the expandable power-bus connector, power can be distributed to a maximum of 75 modules. In addition, two separate or redundant power supplies can be used to feed power to the DSCP70 connection module.

Like other DSCP series, this new family of modules is designed for use in data acquisition, test and measurement, and control system applications. Their compact size, however, makes them ideal for applications where space is very limited. The dimensions of the DSCP ultra-slim modules are 3.67 x 0.24 x 4.04-in. (93.1 x 6.2 x 102.5 mm) and the weight is 1.6 oz (45 g) per module. Operating temperature is -20 °C to +65 °C; storage temperature is -40 °C to +85 °C.

Dataforth, established in 1984, provides data acquisition, signal conditioning and data communication products for industrial applications. Products are manufactured in the USA and have been RoHS Compliant since 2006. Dataforth Quality Management System is ISO9001:2008 registered.
