Digital pressure gage adds digit, features

New unit provides large characters and five digits to large range family.

Automation Products Group Inc. (APG)
has introduced the PG5 digital pressure gage family with a full five-digit display and large 0.4 in. characters.

The company says the new units employ MEMS-based sensing technology for maximum reliability and stability, and incorporate a number of user-selectable setup features as standard features. With five digits in the display, the gage can deliver .01 psi resolution as standard through 100 psi, with no additional cost. The family range includes from vacuum to 500 psi, and from 0 to 10,000 psi, with

“The PG5 requires no special tools or adapters for installation, which makes them an easy and cost-effective replacement for less accurate standard mechanical gages,” says Gordon Greathouse, pressure products application engineer. “The unit’s long life, ease of operation, high accuracy, and low cost makes it an ideal fit in laboratory, manufacturing, aviation, medical, and other applications where standard 2.5 in. or larger mechanical gages are used.”

Each unit incorporates an all-stainless steel sensor that is resistant to most typical vibration and shock exposures. Greathouse says the PG5 provides highly accurate readings even with pulsating pressures, which are hard on vibration-sensitive analog dial gages.

User-selectable functions include tare capability, auto-off (2, 4, 8, 16 or 32 minutes), maximum and minimum readings, and units of measure, including psi, bar, mbar, kPa, MPa, in. H 2 O, mm Hg, in. Hg, cm Hg, kgcm2, or ft H 2 O.
