DMM measures voltage, frequency on ‘noisy’ drives

Fluke Inc. reports that its 87V digital multimeter (DMM) is a test tool designed to maximize productivity and safety in industrial settings. 87V's circuitry can accurately measure voltage and frequency on increasingly common, adjustable-speed motor drive systems, which create electrical noise that ordinary DMMs can't handle.

Fluke Inc. reports that its 87V digital multimeter (DMM) is a test tool designed to maximize productivity and safety in industrial settings. 87V’s circuitry can accurately measure voltage and frequency on increasingly common, adjustable-speed motor drive systems, which create electrical noise that ordinary DMMs can’t handle.

In addition, 87V has a built-in thermometer, and features large display digits and a bright, white backlight for easy reading in low light. It is rated for 600 V Category IV and 1,000 V Category III environments, and is engineered to withstand voltage spikes of 8 kV to help protect users from arc flash hazards.

87V has improved measurement functions, troubleshooting features, resolution, and accuracy to solve problems on motor drives and in plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment.

Fluke adds that its overall 80 Series V, which includes 87V DMM, operates very much like its classic 80 series, but with more problem-solving power, safety, convenience, and impact protection. The new 80 series Vs are independently tested to comply with the 2nd edition of ANSI/ISA S82.01 and EN61010-1 CAT IV 600V/CAT III 1000V. us.fluke.com
