Irvine, Calif. —Calibration of the REFRAC DS is eliminated because measurements are free of signal drift, and unaffected by color, turbidity, clouding, suspended solids or flow rates. Continuous temperature-compensated measurements are provided by a linear array of 2,048 photo diodes which create a light detector. Stainless steel parts and a scratch-resistant sapphire prism protect the measuring head and allow installation in CIP/SIP environments. A single analyzer can be connected to three sensor heads. Each sensor can be 60-ft from the analyzer. Rosemount Analytical Inc.

Tucson, Ariz.— DCP485 Limited Distance Modem/RS-232/RS-485 Converter allows computers, controller, terminals, and other industrial I/O devices with RS-232/485 ports to communicate with each other over extended distances while protecting valuable equipment and signals from damage or degradation due to ground loops, power surges, or other electrical hazards in industrial environments. The DCP485 used heavy-duty optical couplers and a transformer isolated dc-to-dc converter to provide what the company says is significantly higher electrical isolation than similar modems. It’s designed for full duplex operation over 2-wire pairs and may also be operated in asynchronous 2-wire half-duplex or 2-wire simplex modes. Dataforth Corp.
