Dynamometers test all types of small rotary devices

Okemos, MI— MicroDyne series of small motoring dynamometers from Sakor Technologies is suitable for a wide range of automotive and aerospace testing applications. Devices are capable of testing all types of small rotary devices such as motors, pumps, generators, and compressors.

MicroDyne is a four-quadrant unit engineered for low power applications. Versions are available in sizes from 100 W to 5 kW. For applications above 5 kW, the company’s AccuDyne ac dynamometer system is compatible with larger rotary components and conventional engine and power-train systems, hybrid vehicle drives, and electric motors.

AccuDyne and MicroDyne are said to offer precise speed and torque control, especially in low-speed applications where full torque can be applied to stall (zero speed). Systems provide seamless crossover between motoring and loading modes. Features for sophisticated testing requirements include inertia simulation, engine simulation, and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) testing capability. The dynamometers reportedly can be combined with an appropriate Sakor DynoLab test cell control system to achieve reliable performance in a fully automated test system.
