North America’s e-business services market exceeded $10 billion in 1999 and will increase at a combined annual growth rate of 15% to top $20 billion by the end of 2004, according to a new ARC Advisory Group study. E-business applications include enterprise resource planning, extended supply chain, customer-relations management, and core e-business solutions. E-business services help implement and integrate these applications, as well as those needed to implement and integrate mid-level systems, such as enterprise production management. ARC reports the North American market is undergoing a total transformation as it continues to grow rapidly. The changes affect all industries and are having an impact on client base, types of applications served, and services provided. This market, supplied by the independent Tier 1 e-business service providers, will be in a state of flux for the foreseeable future. The leading North American supplier of e-business services is Andersen Consulting, followed by EDS, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Lockheed Martin.
