GE Fanuc’s Proficy HMI/SCADA– iFIX provides comprehensive monitoring, control and data management for companies globally. In September, the company will release the latest version of the software: iFIX 4.5, which addresses a wide range of needs from advanced reliability to improved ease of use, with a lower total cost of ownership.

GE Fanuc iFix 4.5 has Graphic Dynamos, reusable, animated objects that enable graphics creation to save development time.

The new version supports the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, adopting the latest look and feel combined with the latest implementation rules for increased security. Features complement use by OEMs and large end user customers concerned with broad deployments across the enterprise. Version 4.5 enables installation customization, re-branding, installation chaining, and it can leverage deployments involving Microsoft SMS (Systems Management Server). Added features include: expanded client support for up to 200 simultaneous connections of thick or thin clients to one SCADA server; higher-precision math, with calculations up to 15 digits, for advanced process and manufacturing analytics; advanced development management for change and version management and disaster recovery; alarm enhancements to highlight the number of alarm occurrences between operator acknowledgements or while unattended; as well as greater ease of use with OPC certification, in-line editing, and enhanced script wizards.
