EC: Ampgard XP3 MCC
The Ampgard XP3 medium-voltage motor control center (MCC) is part of Eaton’s newest generation of medium voltage MCCs designed to deliver reliable power, industry-leading diagnostics and enhanced safety in critical industrial environments. By helping identify equipment fatigue and preventative maintenance, the Eaton XP3 MCC sets a new standard for reliable operations, safety and uptime in critical industrial environments.
The Ampgard XP3 incorporates a patented controller that is designed to monitor fuse, contactor and motor fatigue to minimize unscheduled downtime, support preventive maintenance and enhance reliable operations. The XP3 also provides superior contactor-fuse coordination to quickly clear faults and minimize equipment damage upstream and downstream from the device.
Digital and analog I/O boards on the XP3 eliminate complex control wiring to simplify circuit changes. Additionally, the XP3 enables control circuit modifications through software configuration rather than hardware additions.
A starter display module on the XP3 indicates starter status, available fault current, incident energy and recommended personal protection equipment (PPE) to enhance personnel safety. The starter display module also calculates the thermal age of motors to provide motor repair or replacement timing alerts and help avoid downtime.
An optional touchscreen central display module is available with the XP3 MCC, enabling remote operation and maintenance checks to be performed outside of the arc flash boundary, increasing personnel safety. The central display module simplifies circuit upgrades and maintenance by providing access to wiring diagrams, renewal parts data and more at the touch of a button.
The Ampgard XP3 MCC is available with multiple communications options, including Ethernet and Modbus, and provides integrated email notification of important events for fast resolution of operational issues.
