Emerson flowmeters fit low-flow, fuel-blending needs

A new line of flowmeters from Emerson Process Management is designed to address emerging petroleum marketing terminal needs, related to regulatory changes. Daniel Series 1200 Turbine flowmeter in 1, 1.5, and 2-in. line sizes provides high-accuracy flow measurements in continuous, low-volume fuel blending operations.

Adding the line sizes is part of the company’s efforts to serve the petroleum industry with appropriate flow metering products. Recent state environmental legislation in the U.S. has led to requirements to use ethanol in place of MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether) as a gasoline oxygenate to achieve higher octane ratings. The change has prompted a new market need for turbine meters that measure the low volumes of additives required in fuel blending.
