Emerson’s Orion acquisition aids Fisher-Rosemount

Fisher-Rosemount's parent company, Emerson Electric Co., revealed June 14 that it has acquired Orion CEM Inc., a supplier of process automation and engineering services to the pulp and paper industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Orion plans to retain its name and will also be known as the Pulp & Paper Center of Engineering Excellence for Fisher-Rosemount.

Fisher-Rosemount’s parent company, Emerson Electric Co., revealed June 14 that it has acquired Orion CEM Inc., a supplier of process automation and engineering services to the pulp and paper industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Orion plans to retain its name and will also be known as the Pulp & Paper Center of Engineering Excellence for Fisher-Rosemount. Besides bringing application expertise and technical skills to Fisher-Rosemount’s services delivery channel, Orion will provide engineering and consulting services involving all related areas and product lines. Orion will also aid Fisher-Rosemount’s project implementations, especially those involving PlantWeb architecture and FOUNDATION fieldbus technology.
