Standard operating temperatures range from –40 to +80 °C, and these devices have an environmental protection rating of NEMA 4 (IP65).

Various cable and connector versions are available, and the encoders are short-circuit and reverse-polarity protected. The maximum number of mechanical revolutions is 12,000 rpm, with any number of increments up to 6,000 possible.
