Control Engineering editors welcomed readers June 10 to their newly redesigned and relaunched Control Engineering Online website at www.controleng.com .

More readers like you have been appreciating what we’re providing, even before these enhancements. Control Engineering Online averaged more than 93,000 unique visits per month during January-April 2002, up more than 80% over the 51,000-per-month average in 2000.

Here’s some of what readers can find:

Control Engineering print editions;

Exclusive Control Engineering Europe print coverage;

Nine Control Engineering and two association e-newsletters;

Unique Control Engineering Online products, daily news, tutorials, and Web Exclusives;

Control Engineering Technology Webcasts;

10 topical channels;

Enhanced site search and Job Search;

An online bookstore, with topics relevant to your needs;

Online Buyer’s Guide from Control Engineering and IAN ; and

Automation Integrator Guide Online .

Timesaving features

New features aim to save time. The search upgrade allows multiple ways to organize the search and delivers categorized results; search and improved navigation are available from every page; page loading is faster; channel content improved; site registration integrates e-newsletter registration, and, from anywhere on the site, click our logo, top left, to return to the home page.

The site, powered by eLogic, adds information from our Manufacturing.Net affiliate sites and from LexisNexis, a sister Reed Business Information company.

Advanced search features—for the site, Online Buyer’s Guide, Automation Integrator Guide —includes password-protected registration. For maximum convenience, the site will remember your identifying information and avoid future log-ins. Do this by checking the “remember me” box and ensuring that cookies are enabled (usually the default setting) under browser preferences.

Those already registered for enhanced features or an e-mail newsletter have been assigned and sent (or reminded) of passwords via e-mail.

If you haven’t registered you may do so at the top of any www.controleng.com page, in the upper-right hand corner above the search engine, where it says “Welcome, Guest. Register…”

Those who have lost or forgotten a site password can go on top of any page, click into “Welcome, Guest…Log In.” and use the “Forgot Your Password” function on the bottom of that page.

Change assigned passwords by clicking on your name after “Welcome…,” in the upper-right corner. Then enter and confirm the new password.

Registration challenges can be addressed by e-mailing registration@reedbusiness.com . Please send additional comments and suggestions to Jeanine Katzel, web editor, or Mark Hoske, editor-in-chief, at controleng@reedbusiness.com .
