Nano I/O server from Acces I/O Products supports industrial I/O applications using both ETX CPUs and PC/104 modules.

San Diego, CA —Nano I/O Server from Acces I/O Products Inc . is reported to be one of the smallest embedded motherboard systems on the market. Designed to support Acces I/O’s line of USB and PC/104 I/O modules and provide the high-performance benefits of ETX, the unit features a motherboard/baseboard that is 120 mm across. Nano right-angle mounted connectors include VGA, RS-232, four USB 2.0 ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard, and Ethernet. The product was among those shown at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, CA, earlier this month.

Nano I/O Server can use any embedded ETX CPU board that meets ETX standards for processing, while providing PC/104 I/O module expansion. Although smaller than EPIC embedded boards, the Nano can support PC/104-Plus I/O modules in an upward stack. Power can be provided through a 12-pin micro-fit power connector with a cable adapter connected to any ATX power supply. For an external dc powered system, a PC/104 dc-dc power supply can be plugged into the PC/104 1/O connector.

  • Full PC/104-Plus I/O expansion;

  • Four rear-mounted USB 2.0 ports;

  • 10/100 Ethernet LAN; and

  • Flat panel, IDE, and Compact Flash support

Tiny embedded server can be mounted into custom chassis and can function as a complete, self-contained DAQ. It can also be placed inside OEM equipment for PC-based monitoring and control.
