Ethernet switch series with redundant power supply inputs
Wieland Electric Inc.'s UMS 5-W, UMS 8, LMS 16-W wienet series of Ethernet switches have redundant power supply inputs and a wide temperature operating range.
Wieland Electric Inc., has added three new switches to its wienet series of Ethernet switches. They are models UMS 5-W, UMS 8, LMS 16-W. These switches have robust DIN rail mountable metal housing, redundant power supply inputs with fault relay contacts for reliability, and a -40 to 75 °C temperature range.
Each model addresses unique requirements. The wienet UMS 5-W minimizes the footprint in the control panel with a slim 30mm width, and is one of Weiland’s more economical options. The wienet S 8-4 power over ethernet (PoE) switch enables the joint transfer of energy and data as per IEEE 802.3 on one Ethernet line. Up to 15.4 W can be supplied per PoE port. This 8-port switch has 4 regular ports and 4 ports that support PoE. Additional features include ESD protection, power line EFT protection, redundant 24 V/48 Vdc voltage supply, a signaling relay and a wide -40 to 75 °C temperature range.
The wienet LMS 16-W light managed switch (LMS) closes the gap between completely unmanaged switches and fully managed switches. LMS combines the benefits of both (managed and unmanaged switches) and enable simple and cost-effective solutions for centralized network management. The wienet LMS series uses Modbus TCP to communicate with SCADA systems. At the same time, communication with an NMS (Networking Management System) via SNMP is possible, providing full device control for control engineers and/or IT engineers.
