Scalance X family of industrial Ethernet switches from Siemens Energy & Automation offers four options for high-performance gigabit communication. Four models use signaling contact, digital inputs, and simple network protocol (SNMP) and are intended for high-speed backbone architectures, including process control systems that must handle large numbers of devices with fast redundancy. They support 100 Mbits and 1,000 Mbits per second communication speeds via Profinet, twisted copper wire, or fiber-optic cable. All have a fanless construction and operate at temperatures between -20 and 70 °C.
