The latest in the UNO-3000 Series of controllers from Advantech is the high-performance Model UNO-3072, which features a fanless ultra-low voltage Intel Pentium M/ Celeron M CPU and is equipped with two PCI extensions. The rugged device offers dual power inputs and battery backup SRAM and is said to be more compact and reliable than other industrial controllers. UNO-3072 can withstand high temperatures and vibrating environments to fulfill tough requirements and still offer long life.

Designed for automation tasks, this flexible unit contains RS-232/ 422/ 485 serial communication ports, USB ports, CompactFlash, Ethernet ports, and PCI cards. All connections are located on the front panel to simplify wiring and maintenance.

Equipped with Microsoft Windows XP SP2, the UNO-3072 provides an EWF (enhanced write filter) protection function to decrease the possibility of a system crash. An embedded OS such as XPe or WinCE also can be provided with a pre-configured image that has optimized onboard device drivers. The design allows the controller to meet demanding requirements from the field and meet most industrial automation or control tasks, company says.
