Courtesy: BEI SensorsThe Model LP35 from BEI Sensors is a hollow shaft encoder that is explosion proof and flameproof and is designed to meet UL, ATEX, and IECEx standards allowing for operation directly in Division 1, Zone 1 environments. The LP35 is specially designed for oil and gas applications such as top drives, which have limited space. The LP35 is also built to withstand up to 250 G so it can consistently operate in harsh drilling applications. The LP35 is also able to operate in temperatures up to +85 C. The encoder’s unique terminal box configuration allows the unit to be pre-wired, reducing wiring errors and saving time on installation. The LP35 can be used for other oil and gas applications like draw works and mud pumps that require feedback components. The LP35 also has IP66 sealing to reduce downtime.
