Field-mount device enclosure certified explosion-proof
CSA International has certified Moore Industries’ BH field-mount instrumentation enclosures explosion-proof, which allows users of hockey-puck instruments to deploy such devices in hazardous locations. The company adds that the housing meets standards for enclosing indoor and outdoor electronic instruments approved for use in explosion-proof, dust-ignition proof, and intrinsically-safe locations.
With the new certificate, the BH enclosure’s full rating includes: Class I, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; Class III; Type 4X; and IP66. Prior approvals include Factory Mutual (FM) explosion-proof, dust-ignition proof, NEMA 4X, IP66, and ATEX flame-proof certifications. To meet NEMA 4X and IP66 ratings, the BH housing is resistant to ultraviolet rays and chemicals. Its high impact structure protects instruments even in harsh field conditions.

This new certification is in addition to Moore’s existing SB stainless steel, explosion-proof enclosure for hockey-puck instruments.
