Manchester, N.H. —Special Edition 850 is a UV-IR optical flame detector with a patented dual infrared sensing channel. This Factory Mutual approved model is designed to detect silane, hydrogen, and hydrazine flames as well as typical hydrocarbon flames. Dual infrared sensing enables the detector to sense two distinct wavelengths of infrared. It can see the standard hydrocarbon flame at the 4.3 micron range. In addition, Special Edition 850 can detect flames in the 2.9 micron band. This band is emitted when nonhydrocarbon materials burn.
