Model 3712KPM flat-panel industrial computer from Xycom Automation Inc., a Pro-face America Company, provides cutout compatibility with devices in service during the past 20 years. A high-performance, all-in-one device, 3712KPM is compatible with panel cutouts used by other Xycom units, and also matches those from other vendors, including Rockwell Automation’s Allen-Bradley and Schneider Electric’s Square D.

Many older units can’t use today’s operating systems and applications. 3712KPM allows a new computer to be installed without altering mounting hardware. Operator input options include keypad with integrated industrial mouse and optional touchscreen. Unit comes standard with a 12.1-in., SVGA flat-panel LCD. The AGP graphics defaults to 4-MB video RAM and will automatically share RAM (up to 32 MB) with the system to allow full, 32-bit color depth.

Xycom adds that 3712KPM can be configured in many different ways. With four available expansion slots (three full-length ISA/PCI, one half-length PCI), many cost-effective, industry-standard options are easily integrated. The optional dual hard drive, externally accessible compact Flash, or external drive bay connector enable required storage solutions. Also, the CD-ROM can be upgraded to a read/write drive, allowing even more storage and/or backup options. The optional 9000-XBAY allows users to externally mount two IDE devices without requiring a power supply or unreliable cabling. www.xycom.com
