By Control Engineering Staff October 20, 2005

Fluke Electronics Corp. announced it intends to acquire Infrared Solutions, a provider of portable thermography products. Fluke expects the transaction to close during 4Q2005, following the satisfaction of certain closing conditions.

Infrared Solutions applies infrared (IR) technology for commercial and industrial use. It is a privately owned firm headquartered in Plymouth, MN, that designs, manufactures, and sells a broad array of thermal imaging products for use across a number of channels, including predictive and preventative maintenance. Products include the IR FlexCam and IR InSight, rugged, easy-to-use, portable thermographic cameras with advanced reporting software.

Fluke makes compact, professional electronic test tools for technicians, engineers, electricians and others who install, troubleshoot, and manage industrial electrical and electronic equipment and calibration processes for quality control. The company introduced its first thermography product, Fluke Ti30, earlier this year.
