Focus on embedded: E-site targets industry news, commentary, blogs

Austin, TX —A new, independent e-site is focusing on news, information, and commentary about the embedded computing industry. EmbeddedDirt.com is termed uncomplicated and unbiased by site developer and operator Godsey Technical Associates LLC (GTA). Site is said to include blogs and opinions (with RSS feed capability) and listings to help locate online resources pertinent to the embedded computing industry.

The site takes a three-pronged approach to presenting information:

Blog offers news, information, and commentary on the embedded computing industry and encourages comments. Blog’s RSS feed reportedly makes it easy for visitors to stay informed.

Resource section provides links to online resources and sites specifically for the embedded computing industry.

Sponsor section, the only commercial portion of the site, includes sponsor companies who have products or services directed at developers, system integrators, and buyers in the embedded marketplace.

The site’s name was chosen because it accurately reflects the nature of the embedded computing industry, said Ernest Godsey, GTA founder. “There is always extreme pressure to deliver better, faster, and at less cost…by tomorrow at the latest. And this forces tradeoffs between hardware, software, firmware, standards, and specifications, which can result in a very messy design process; hence, the name embeddedDIRT.”

Company sites must promote their own products and services, Godsey went on, but since GTA has no hardware or software products, it can “provide objective and reliable insight into the embedded marketplace.” GTA is an alliance of marketing professionals said to help technical and engineering companies solve marketing problems.
