Buchanan, MI —The Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies group from Bosch Rexroth developed a free guidebook called, “Lean Manufacturing: Principles, Tools and Methods.” The book offers explanations for nine key principles of lean manufacturing that can be applied to any industry and offers tips for implementation. It is meant to help manufacturers respond quickly to rapidly changing customer demands through systems that can be reconfigured and expanded whenever they need to be.

The guidebook uses an informative mix of operational examples and illustration to explain basic lean manufacturing principles such as continuous flow, lean machine simplicity, and workplace organization. It also shows how to evaluate lean manufacturing systems. The guidebook can be downloaded for free by request from the company’s website.
