Mass flowmeter for chlorine applications

GF90 Mass Flowmeter from Fluid Components International helps optimize chlorine use in municipal water purification plants. In water treatment applications, liquid chlorine is vaporized, and the gas is added to the water in precise concentration levels. A gas flowmeter like the GF90 works in a closed loop with the control system to determine the correct amount of chlorine necessary to maintain the required water purity. FCI says the GF90 easily handles the challenges of metering chlorine gas, whose wet, corrosive, and flow rates can be extremely low, which makes accurate measurement difficult. The design’s technology provides a stable output with accuracy of +1% of reading plus 0.5% percent of full scale, with repeatability of +0.5% of reading or better. GF90 can handle multi-gas or variable flow processes, and includes an advanced microprocessor-based programmable transmitter that can store up to three gas calibration groups.
