Hannover Fair 2003: ZMD exhibiting AS-interface solutions

ZMD reports that it has expanded its know-how in developing and producing AS-i circuits, which includes monolithic CMOS integrated circuits (ICs) certified for AS-i networks. ZMD offers two ICs with standard interconnection to AS-i networks, and are presently in production as part of its A2SI products. To meet the needs of low-end device AS-i, ZMD’s ASI-SW product family offers small push-button sensor and actuator applications. Besides production and development of ICs, ZMD supports development engineers working on continuous improvement of AS-i elements.

AS-i products and other devices that ZMD is exhibiting at Hannover Fair include:

ASI-SW is an integrated circuit developed especially for integrating AS-i electronics in key control panels, miniaturized sensors and small actuators. This BUS IC meets the needs of the low-end market segment. This demonstration combines ZMD’s AS-i ICs with ZMD31020, a pressure sensor signal conditioning IC. This combination enables reliable and cost-efficient sensor communication with monitoring, controlling and user interface equipment.

ZMD31020 is a differential, sensor signal-conditioning IC for amplification and sensor-specific correction of resistive bridge sensor signals.

CMOS camera by PhotonFocus is used to monitor the promotional event of a BUS race. This camera is used for high-end industrial applications, including traffic surveillance, security, automotive (blind-spot, night vision, arrival and departure). It includes a high-dynamic image sensor with 120 dB (LINLOG) or 45dB linear response, and is available in a CIF-format with 352 x 288 pixels, and an SVGA format with 850 x 640 pixel, planned for 3Q03. The camera chip was manufactured using ZMD’s mixed-signal process, which is a 0.6um CMOS process. ZMD also designed the A/D converter.
