ProComSol has announced its new full-featured HART device configuration software package, for the PDA platform. This software allows access to all features and functionality available in the HART DD (device description) on a hand held device.

The DevCom2000 PDA Smart Device Communicator package reportedly does all the functions of HART hand-helds, including monitoring and editing device variables and executing all device DD Methods.

“Now a complete hand held HART solution is available at a fraction of the cost of traditional HART Communicators,” says Jeffrey Dobos, president of ProComSol. “With the current economy, this much cost savings for an essential instrumentation tool can save your budget.”

The company says the software is based on the SDC-625 technology developed by the HART Communication Foundation (HCF). This technology allows full and complete access to all data in the device DD. “When new DD’s are registered with the HCF, they must be validated using the SDC-625 tool from the HCF,” Dobos adds. “Because SDC-625 forms the core of DevCom2000 PDA, developers and users are assured of high performance in the field.”

ProComSol was founded in 2005 to provide technically advanced, low cost communication solutions to the HART marketplace. The company also designs and manufactures HART modems for both the USB and Bluetooth interfaces.
