One of the latest offerings, the fanless Advantech C-UNO-1150-ACP, is a diskless DIN-rail mount embedded thin client computer with a cable-less design featuring dual LAN, 1600 x 1200 resolution at128 bit color and support for 16:9 resolutions. It also has three RS-232 ports, two USB ports, UL certification, and audio.

ThinManager gives system administrators the ability to configure and monitor every thin client and Microsoft terminal server throughout the entire company with a single management tool, and provides support for configuration and calibration of all Advantech’s monitors and touch screens. With specs ranging from a 400 MHz GX-2 CPU and 256 MB RAM to a 1 GHz Celeron M processor with 512 MB RAM, the Advantech ThinManager ready thin clients are appropriate for low power consumption in tight enclosures.

Separately, Advantech announced the ARK-3420, a fanless industrial computer that supports Intel Core2 Duo processors and has the Intel GME965 chipset built in. Featuring powerful processing coupled with powerful display capability, PCI/PCIe expansion and dual SATA HDD support, the ARK-3420 is appropriate for applications including image processing and automatic optical inspection (AOI), as well as general automation and embedded control.

All ARK-3420 electronics are protected in a ruggedly compact, sealed aluminum case that provides shock, vibration, and dust resistance. With a footprint of only 220 mm x 102.5 mm x 200 mm (8.66 x 4.04 x 7.87 in.), it is suitable for space-limited applications, and fits in easily either as a stand-alone wall- or desk-mount unit, or it can be embedded within another housing.

The Intel GME965 chipset provides crisp graphics and a rich visual experience with Intel Clear Video technology. For storage options, two 2.5” SATA HDDs (huge capacity) and one CompactFlash card are supported.
