ICwiki helps engineers with semiconductors

Chandler, AZ —Expanding the world of wiki, a new website, ICwiki , serves engineers, students and professors working with microelectronics to collaborate and share data related to semiconductor products, applications and best practices. Microchip Technology Inc. launches the wiki site, which allows users to change content and participate in Web logging (blogging), voting, and messaging.

ICwicki is available using English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, and Russian.

Topics cover vertical markets, such as automotive, home appliance, and robotics, plus function topics such as algorithms, oscillators, PCB layout best practices, and signal conditioning. Product topics include microcontrollers, digital signal controllers, analog, and memory products.

According to Mitch Little, Microchip’s vice president of worldwide sales and applications, “ICwiki is a natural extension of the University of Microchip.” The university is first in the industry to provide such a resource. It offers support to universities worldwide with company-sponsored training through field applications teams, regional training centers, and the company’s Masters conferences or online design centers.

The GDSS feature allows an author to start a new blog and to invite selected members to join the group, while restricting access to others. ICwiki permits voting or polling, where users can post questions and view responses online. A messaging feature enables communication, without disclosing email addresses.
