North Hills, CA —FPS200 Trunkguard fieldbus power conditioner from MooreHawke, a div. of Moore Industries-International Inc. , provides conditioned power FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 networks in general purpose and non-incendive applications. It comes in simplex (non-redundant) and duplex (redundant) models.
Simplex configuration allows up to eight modules to be installed on one DIN-rail carrier to provide power to up to eight H1 fieldbus segments. Each plug-in module provides 350 mA at 26 V of isolated, conditioned power, is compliant with FF831-1 fieldbus specification, and is FOUNDATION fieldbus registered.
Duplex configuration provides redundant, load-sharing, hot swappable power conditioners. In normal operation, two modules share the supply load to one H1 segment. If one module fails, the other seamlessly picks up the load. Conditioners can be added to or removed from the DIN-rail carrier without powering down the system and without affecting fieldbus communications. One duplex power carrier with eight power conditioners can support four H1 segments.
On-board segment diagnostics include an LED that indicates segment short circuit, low-voltage output to the segment, and low supply voltage to the carrier board. A volt-free contact closure output can be wired to the host system for alarm notification. Optional surge protection, rated at 20 kA, protects the segment and attached instrumentation from power surges.
